April 14 - 2018 Towaoc, Colorado

Yesterday (the 13th), we moved from Cameron, Arizona to Towaoc, Colorado (250 miles / 450 km). A very scenic drive, but also very windy, with lots of very strong gusts (vindstød).
Halfway, we stopped at Monument Valley in Utah. The last three days have revolved around the same topic: Rock formations (Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon and Monument Valley). They have been about as different as at all possible. Monument Valley is also a fantastic place.
The weather was nice, except for the wind.
Again, we took hundreds of pictures. John Ford (the movie director/filminstruktør) shot many of his Western movies here. Many of them with John Wayne as a leading character. For instance Stagecoach (Diligencen). Maybe that is why I had this place on my must do list.

Before and after Monument Valley we also saw many different and very pretty scenes.

This rock formation looked like a piece of pottery!
We stopped at the four corners. Yes, it is to some extend a tourist trap. The Navajos charge you to get in there. But since we drove right by it.... It is the only place on the US where 4 states come together.

The weather has definitely changed since we moved from Tucson and Phoenix, where we had 93 F / 33C, sunshine and no wind. Yesterday it was very windy on the way to Colorado. Temperatures around 50 F / 10 C. And this morning it was 32 F / 0 C !!
